The government is changing the EPC requirement to a band C as it wants homes to be more energy efficient in line with its ‘net zero admissions by 2050’ targets. 

The new regulations won’t apply until 2028 for existing tenancies, but new tenancies will need to comply to the changes from April 1st, 2025.

Thousands of homes are currently a D and E rating and will potentially need a new heating system, loft insulation, solar panels, wall and floor insulation or new windows, to bring them up to level C.

You need a robust business process for assessing properties, expert advice on bringing properties up to C rating, and ensuring certificates are issued.
