The Role

Working within our Building Safety team you will act as a principal consultant for building regulations compliance, supporting clients on a diverse range of projects. You will work closely with the Building Safety Director and wider team, helping to deliver our business development strategy through professional, proactive collaboration with clients and design teams.

• Conduct plan checks and maintain compliance trackers to ensure regulatory requirements are met.
• Attend Design Team Meetings with designers and project managers to resolve compliance queries and help ensure designs are fully compliant.
• Provide clear, practical guidance to design teams through design reviews and regular communication.
• Work across multiple projects at any one time, managing workload and priorities effectively.
• Provide technical expertise to support and upskill building surveyors on complex and higher risk schemes.
• Balance office, home, and site based work as required by project needs.

Experience and Qualifications

• Registered Building Inspector with the BSR at Level 2F or above.
• Proven experience in building regulations compliance, design review, or Building Control / Building Safety roles.
• Strong knowledge of building regulations and associated legislation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable in a client facing role.
• Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple live projects.
• Professional membership such as MRICS, MCABE, or MCIOB is desirable.

The Role

Working in a defined geographical area you will support and build relationships with clients by providing proactive building regulations plans and site assessment services on a diverse range of projects. You will need to build great relationships with clients, be organised and self motivated.

• Inspecting buildings being constructed or converted, working closely with Developers and Builders to ensure the works are in accordance with Building Regulations.
• Plan checking making sure compliant to building regulations.
• Effectively self-manage, forward-planning own workload to provide a responsive, helpful and professional service whilst maximising time spent on site.
• Recording inspection details on the system and communicating comments to customers.
• Ongoing liaison with Developers / Clients / Builders, offering technical advice and guidance.
• Undertake any other duties as reasonably required and building relationships.

Experience and Qualifications

• Great with Clients, technically astute, organised and self-motivated
• Member of MRICS / MCABE/ MCIOB
• Relevant experience of site inspections and plan checks

The Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Acoustic Consultant to join our growing acoustics and environmental team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality acoustic assessments and providing technical support across a range of environmental, architectural, and building acoustics projects. This role involves field measurements, data analysis, technical reporting, and close collaboration with clients, architects, and multidisciplinary teams

Key Responsibilities

Technical

• Carry out environmental noise and vibration surveys, including baseline monitoring, attended measurements, and compliance assessments.
• Conduct acoustic modelling using industry-standard software (e.g., CadnaA, SoundPLAN, Odeon, Insul).
• Prepare technical reports in accordance with relevant standards (BS 4142, BS 8233, BS 5228, ProPG, WHO, etc.).
• Undertake architectural and building acoustics assessments including sound insulation design, reverberation control, and internal noise criteria.
• Support the development of noise mitigation strategies for planning, building design, and construction projects.

Project Delivery

• Manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring work is delivered on time, on budget, and to a high technical standard.
• Prepare proposals, fee quotes, and project documentation.
• Liaise with clients, planning authorities, and project stakeholders.
• Attend site visits, design team meetings, and provide clear, professional advice.

• Ensure all work complies with relevant environmental and building acoustics legislation, guidance, and best practice.
• Maintain accurate survey records, calibration logs, and internal QA procedures.

Essential

• Degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
• 1–3+ years of experience in acoustic consultancy (or relevant transferable experience).
• Strong understanding of UK acoustic standards and guidelines.
• Proficiency with sound level meters and monitoring equipment.
• Strong analytical and report-writing skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good time-management and organisational abilities.
• Proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused mindset

Desirable

• Membership of the IOA (AMIOA/MIOA) or working toward it.
