Noise, Dust &
Vibration Monitoring Services

What is noise, vibration and dust monitoring?

Noise, vibration and dust monitoring uses dedicated systems to measure environmental conditions on construction and demolition sites in real time. The purpose of monitoring is to provide robust, project-specific data that supports compliance with planning conditions and environmental regulations, manages nuisance risks to surrounding communities, and enables early action when agreed parameters are approached. Every project is different. Depending on your site’s scale, location, planning conditions and risk profile, you may need some of the monitoring elements described below, but not all. The right approach starts with an initial conversation with the team at enevo followed by an assessment to ensure the service we provide matches your specific requirements.

Why it matters

Construction activity can disturb local receptors if parameters exceed acceptable levels. Continuous monitoring can help you:

  • Avoid enforcement action, delays or fines by identifying potential breaches early.
  • Provide robust evidence to support responses to complaints or regulatory enquiries.
  • Demonstrate proactive environmental management to stakeholders.

Regulations and quality assurance

enevo’s monitoring solutions are designed to support compliance with key guidance and regulatory frameworks relevant to noise, vibration and air quality, including:

  • BS 5228 guidance for construction noise and vibration control.
  • Peak Particle Velocity (PPV) and Vibration Dose Value (VDV) standards for vibration assessment.
  • Air quality limits for PM10, PM2.5 and other particulates.
  • Local authority planning conditions, which often reference Section 61 agreements under the Control of Pollution Act 1974.

This monitoring focuses on environmental conditions around live works. If you are looking for sound insulation testing to demonstrate compliance with building regulations on residential developments, see our Sound Testing service.

Dan at enevo has completed for us SBEM Calculations and EPC Certificates for 6 commercial units on an industrial estate. The cost of the works was very competitive and the service we received was second to none. With very limited time to get these works completed Dan worked round the clock (and into his annual leave!!) to ensure that our completion date was achieved with very little notice. Would highly recommend!
