Preston-based health and safety consultancy Aegis Services Ltd has joined enevo, bringing further CDM, construction health and safety, Clerk of Works and risk management experience into the group.

Aegis has worked with clients across the North West since 1995. Over that time, the team has supported around 6,000 projects for more than 600 clients, building a strong regional reputation for practical CDM Principal Designer services, construction-phase health and safety advice and wider risk management support.

The acquisition gives enevo a stronger base in Lancashire and across the North West. It also gives Aegis clients access to a wider range of built environment services, including Building Safety, Building Compliance and Building Control. This includes Building Safety Act advice, Building Regulations Principal Designer support, Higher-Risk Building guidance, sustainability, testing, inspection and independent Building Control services.

Adam Kaley, Director at Aegis Services Ltd, said:

“Having built Aegis over nearly three decades, it was important to find a partner that understood our technical standards and the client relationships that sit at the centre of the business.

“Joining enevo gives us the platform to grow while continuing to provide the hands-on, practical support our clients rely on every day. For our clients, this is business as usual. We are still Aegis and our projects will still be delivered by the same experienced team. The difference is that our clients can now draw on a much wider pool of technical expertise.

“That matters as construction, health and safety and building regulatory requirements continue to change.”

Mark Heptonstall, CEO and founder of enevo, added:

“Bringing Aegis into enevo gives us a stronger presence in Lancashire and adds more depth to our Building Safety capability.

“The Aegis team has an excellent reputation in CDM, construction health and safety, Clerk of Works and operational risk. Their experience fits well with the Building Safety division we have been building, while increasing our capacity and widening the support we can offer clients.

“For clients, it means continuity from the Aegis team they already know, with access to broader technical support as projects and regulatory duties become more complex.”

The deal follows enevo’s recent expansion of its Santander UK funding facility, which supports the group’s planned buy-and-build strategy across the UK built environment sector.

For enevo, the acquisition is another step in building a more connected national consultancy, bringing together specialist support across safety, compliance, environmental performance, testing, inspection and Building Control.
