Building Compliance

enevo is now an accredited supplier on the Public Sector Resourcing (PSR) framework. This puts us in a stronger position to work directly with government departments and public bodies across the UK, particularly on projects where scrutiny is high and delivery has to be right. For us, and for our clients in construction, development and infrastructure, it’s an important accreditation.

Why PSR matters

PSR has become the established framework through which public sector organisations engage suppliers. In practice, it provides a structured route for securing expertise, whether that’s technical consultancy, building safety advice, or compliance services. It’s not just a badge, it’s a system designed to ensure accountability, governance and transparency in how public money is spent. When dealing with something as visible and important as built environment projects, transparency in these areas really matters.

In recent years the way projects are procured and managed has been under more public and regulatory scrutiny than ever. The Building Safety Act has, and continues to, change the way higher-risk projects are approached. Better governance in this sphere is no longer a nice-to-have, but essential.

The backbone: Statements of Work

One of the most practical aspects of PSR is its use of Statements of Work (SOW). Not just another checklist document, but if invested in with the right time and effort, something that can help set projects off on the right track. A good SOW lays out milestones, deliverables and responsibilities. It prevents ambiguity creeping in later and helps everyone understand exactly what ‘good’ looks like. Explicit and joined-up clarity like this is something the Building Safety Regulator has been advocating since its inception.

From a client’s perspective, it can mean less project uncertainty, tighter budget control and improved accountability. From our side (as a service provider and consultancy), it helps us focus our expertise where it is most needed, whether acting as Building Regulations Principal Designer, supporting dutyholders, or working in related areas such as acoustic and environmental testing or SAP assessments.

The client view

Through platforms like SAP Fieldglass, there’s full visibility of project progress, milestone delivery and supplier performance. That level of clarity is especially valuable when there are multiple stakeholders around the table and risk needs to be actively managed. It gives clients, contractors, architects, service providers and investors greater confidence that the promised outcomes will be delivered, and that nothing is hidden in the process.

The supplier perspective

From our point of view as a consultancy and advisory business, being accredited and working within PSR demonstrates our ability to deliver in a highly structured environment. It gives us the opportunity to contribute to projects of national importance while operating against a consistent set of standards. It also pushes us to continually demonstrate our capabilities and expertise to the public sector, which is no bad thing. In fact, it aligns closely with the way we already approach our work in building safety, compliance and regulation consultancy, where we’re always aiming for clarity, evidence and accountability.

The bigger picture

Ultimately, being part of PSR helps to strengthen the link between public and private sectors. It offers opportunities for suppliers to step up, while reassuring clients and investors that projects are being managed with the right level of scrutiny. It helps ensure that public investment is spent wisely, and that outcomes are efficient and credible. In an industry where safety and accountability are under the spotlight, it offers a structure that applies both.

We’re proud to be part of PSR and to bring our expertise into that environment. As always, if you’re a contractor, developer or architect working on publicly funded projects and want to understand how we can support you, we’d love to talk.
