In 2024, we decided we needed a step change. Something to re-energise and refocus our business. A unification of the C80 Group companies into a single, new, client-facing brand name: enevo

While the name enevo is new (it stands for “enabling evolution”), rest assured it comes from a stable of businesses with solid experience and history in the industry.

Built On Strong Foundations – A Brief History of Our Journey So Far.

enevo’s story has strong roots. Since 2010, we have grown both organically and through strategic acquisitions, bringing together a wealth of ability under one roof.

It all started with C80 Solutions in 2010, founded with a focus on building compliance and technical testing for the built environment. Initially, we specialised in domestic projects, focused mainly on SAP calculations and air testing, gradually earning a reputation for reliability and precision.

Over time, our expertise and ambition allowed us to grow significantly, evolving from modest beginnings to working with Tier 1 main contractors and some of the industry’s leading architects and developers on projects exceeding £50 million. Today, C80 Solutions is proud to have one of the largest building physics teams in the UK construction industry, complemented by a growing acoustics division, offering reliable, cost-effective solutions for energy assessments, compliance, and environmental consulting. This journey has solidified our position as a trusted partner across the construction sector.

In 2019, YDBC (Yorkshire Dales Building Consultancy) joined the fold, offering a private alternative to Local Authority Building Control. Their consultative approach and commitment to excellent service brought proven ability in building regulation approvals, strengthening our ability to deliver building control solutions to clients across the North of England and beyond.

Since then, the team has doubled in size, welcoming industry-leading Registered Building Inspectors (RBIs) with expertise across Class 2 to Class 3, including complex buildings in Groups G and H. This growth has enhanced our capability to provide tailored, high-quality building control services to an even broader range of clients and projects.

In 2021, we welcomed ASK Building Control, another private sector company renowned for its client-friendly, cost-effective approach to building control. ASK’s emphasis on early client dialogue and smooth project execution aligned perfectly with our values. With their expertise, we could offer even greater support to developers and builders seeking practical, regulatory-compliant solutions.

These brands, each with their own strengths, helped us build a reputation for quality and trust. Together, they laid the groundwork for a brighter, unified future.

As we grew, so did our challenges. Operating under a multi-brand structure occasionally brought with it some complexity and confusion for clients and even our own team. Who were we? What could we offer as a group? Does “this team” also work with “that team”? What other services can you offer?

These questions highlighted the need for a clearer, simplified identity and service provision. With more acquisitions on the horizon, being too fragmented risked confusion and inefficiency. It was time to simplify – for our clients, our staff, and our future development.
