Health & Safety Training Courses

Effective health and safety training helps people understand workplace risks, recognise their responsibilities and develop the practical knowledge needed to work and manage more safely.

enevo provides professional health and safety training for employees, managers, supervisors and construction teams, including established IOSH training courses designed for different roles and levels of responsibility.

Our training combines structured course content with the practical experience of health and safety professionals who understand how risks are managed in real working environments. This helps delegates connect what they learn with the situations, responsibilities and challenges they may encounter in the workplace.

Whether you need to improve general workforce awareness, develop the health and safety knowledge of managers and supervisors or provide construction-specific training, we can help identify an appropriate course for your requirements.

Training for Different Roles and Responsibilities

The right health and safety training depends on the work people do, the risks they encounter and the decisions they are expected to make.

Employees need to recognise hazards, understand precautions and know how to raise concerns. Managers and supervisors also need to understand how to assess risks, organise work and check that safety arrangements are being followed.

Construction teams face additional challenges as activities, contractors and site conditions change. Training should help those overseeing the work understand their responsibilities and make informed decisions about site risks.

Our courses support these different needs, from general workplace awareness to management responsibilities, fire safety and construction site management.

How Our Health & Safety Training Works

01

Understand Your Training Needs

Tell us about your organisation, the work your team undertakes and the responsibilities of those attending. This helps establish whether you need general awareness, management training or a course focused on construction or fire safety.

02

Identify an Appropriate Course

We discuss the course options in relation to your team's experience and learning needs. The aim is to select training that is relevant to their roles and the workplace decisions they need to make.

03

Confirm the Arrangements

Before booking, we confirm the available course arrangements, delegate requirements and any assessment involved. This gives you the information needed to plan attendance and prepare your team.

04

Connect Learning With Practice

Training helps delegates relate health and safety principles to their responsibilities at work. Employers can build on this learning through workplace instruction, supervision and opportunities to apply the knowledge gained.

Making Training Part of Everyday Health & Safety Image

Making Training Part of Everyday Health & Safety

Training is most useful when it supports the way work is planned, supervised and carried out. A course can develop knowledge, but people also need clear instructions about the hazards, equipment and procedures in their own workplace.

Employers should consider training when people join the organisation, take on different responsibilities or encounter new or increased risks. Changes to equipment, technology or working methods can also create a need for further training.

Reviewing how people apply their learning helps identify gaps. Supervisors can check understanding, observe working practices and address areas where further instruction or support is needed.

Keeping training records and reviewing learning needs helps organisations plan refresher training and respond as their workforce and activities change.

Frequently asked questions?

Is health and safety training a legal requirement?

Employers in Great Britain must provide adequate health and safety training, alongside appropriate information, instruction and supervision. The training required depends on the work, the risks involved and employees' responsibilities. A particular IOSH course is not a universal legal requirement; course selection should reflect the organisation's training needs.

What is the difference between IOSH Working Safely and Managing Safely?

Working Safely develops general awareness for employees, helping them recognise hazards and understand their contribution to workplace safety. Managing Safely is aimed at managers and supervisors, with greater emphasis on assessing and controlling risks, understanding responsibilities and monitoring performance.

Which health and safety course is suitable for construction site managers?

Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Site Managers is designed for those overseeing construction risks. The appropriate choice depends on the person's responsibilities and any client or project requirements. Share those requirements with us so we can discuss the course's suitability before booking.

Do delegates need previous health and safety training?

Do delegates need previous health and safety training? Answer:

IOSH Working Safely and Managing Safely do not require previous health and safety expertise. Managing Safely is intended for people with management or supervisory responsibilities. We can discuss delegates' roles and experience when helping you select a course.

How often should health and safety training be refreshed?

There is no single refresher interval for all health and safety training. Training should be repeated where appropriate and adapted when risks change. Review learning needs when responsibilities, equipment or working methods change, or when incidents and workplace observations indicate gaps in understanding.

Does completing a course replace workplace induction?

No. A course provides knowledge that employers must connect to their own working arrangements. Employees still need relevant induction, task-specific instruction and appropriate supervision, including information about local hazards, precautions and emergency procedures.
