Aston Brain Centre
The ABC is a world-leading Centre of Excellence for the study of brain development and imaging. This new, purpose-built Centre, funded by HEFCE, the Wellcome Trust and the University, brings together a unique suite of equipment and facilities and a number of outstanding research teams, academics and clinicians, working in related areas of brain research, from child development to healthy ageing.
What did the project require?
The facility, although research based, provides a diagnostic and treatment facility for NHS patients referred by local hospital Trusts. The whole building was constructed to the requirements of HTM and HBN guidance under the review of the CQC.
The construction of a new brain function research and treatment centre providing cutting edge brain stimulus and response research was an exciting scheme for us to secure. This project was delivered under the requirements of BREEAM and achieved an EXCELLENT rating.
