We are proud to have worked on the Crisis Assessment facility within the Elgar Unit at Newtown Hospital in Worcester which is improving patients’ access to crisis mental health support across Worcestershire.

What did the project require?

The unit provides an alternative care pathway, avoiding the need for patients to go via emergency departments. It assists the service delivery by providing:

• 24 hour patient access
• Increasing patient pathways to include self-referrals and providing open access to assessments from mental health clinicians
